Girlfriend of Browns DE dies in car accident weeks after giving birth
The Cleveland Browns are mourning the loss of one of their own on Wednesday.

The team released a statement on social media acknowledging that the girlfriend of defensive end Chris Smith, Petara Cordero, was killed in a car accident Wednesday morning.

Cordero was just 26 years old at the time of her passing. The couple had just given birth to their first child two weeks ago.
Cordero’s brother confirmed her passing in a Facebook message on Wednesday.
“I love you beautiful you will forever be missed I cant believe this. I cant believe I even got that call, I cant believe I’m even writing this. Rest in heaven baby sis I love you! … this shit hurts so bad!!!!â€
Our thoughts obviously go out to Mr. Smith, the Browns’ organization and the entire Cordero family during these most difficult of times.
