Bill Belichick praises Patriots newcomer Mohamed Sanu for his work ethic
The New England Patriots are rolling once again during this NFL season as they have made easy work of every opponent thus far. Armed with arguably the best defense in the league and still having Tom Brady under center with Bill Belichick calling the shots, the team may be well on their way to another Super Bowl title.
However, even though the Patriots are undefeated heading into Week 8. The team wasn’t satisfied with their receiving corps and therefore made a move to trade for veteran wide receiver, Mohamed Sanu. Although he’s only been with the team a short while, Sanu is already receiving high praise from Belichick for his work ethic, via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
“Smart kid, picks things up well,†coach Bill Belichick told reporters on Friday. “We’ll see what we can do here. Sometimes as it accumulates — early downs, third down, red area, situational stuff. We’ll see what the load looks like, but he’s made good progress [Wednesday and Thursday]. Works hard. Good kid. Is really in-tune and trying very hard to pick up things quickly and get on the same page as everybody else. That’s obviously a long way to go, a lot of work to do, but he’s working hard at it, so we appreciate that.â€
The addition of Sanu is definitely a step in the right direction for the Patriots, especially after placing Josh Gordon on the injured reserve list this week. Sanu should give the team some depth in the receiving corps while also giving Brady a veteran presence downfield along with Julian Edelman.
