Tom Brady writes message to fans on Instagram

Tom Brady isn’t done.

At 42 years old, Tom Brady and his New England Patriots were eliminated on Saturday night in a 20-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans at Gillette Stadium in the AFC Wild Card round. With free agency looming, Brady may have played his last down for the Patriots. Coincidentally, it was a pick-six.

With speculation rampant on where Brady may end up next year, the future first-ballot Hall of Famers took to Instagram to write a message for his fans.

“I just wanted to say to all of our fans, THANK YOU! After a few days of reflection, I am so grateful and humbled by the unconditional support you have shown me the past two decades. Running out of that tunnel every week is a feeling that is hard to explain. I wish every season ended in a win, but that’s not the nature of sports (or life). Nobody plays to lose. But the reward for working hard is just that, the work!! I have been blessed to find a career I love, teammates who go to battle with me, an organization that believes in me, and fans who have been behind us every step of the way.

Every one of us that works at Gillette Stadium strived to do their best, spent themselves at a worthy cause, and prepared to fail while daring greatly (h/t Teddy Roosevelt). And for that, we’ve been rewarded with something that the scoreboard won’t show — the satisfaction of knowing we gave everything to each other in pursuit of a common goal. That is what TEAM is all about.”

Brady continued to talk about having more to achieve, essentially ruling out retirement. Despite turning 43 in August, Brady has shown the ability to play at a championship level. As well as that, he’s had almost no help around him this season.

Throughout the next few months before free agency (March 16 is the start date), Brady will be linked to a variety of teams. The Los Angeles Chargers are going to be a common rumor. As well as that, others such as the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins are possible. Anything is on the table.

Still, smart money says Brady and the Patriots will figure something out to keep the tandem together. With only a few years left in his career, does Brady want to start anew? Possible, but unlikely.

We have plenty of time to speculate. In the meantime, we wait, knowing Brady wants to play, unsure of where.
