Warriors superstar Stephen Cury could return in March
Since playing in the first four games of the year, Stephen Curry has been out of the mix for the Golden State Warriors.
Curry has been on the mend from a fractured wrist over the last couple of months. However, it appears that he’s moving towards being back on the court by March 1 at home against the Washington Wizards, according to Marcus Thompson II of the Athletic.
The question is not if Stephen Curry is coming back this season, but when. And, from what I’ve been told, you might want to clear your schedule for March 1. The Warriors host the Washington Wizards that night.
That’s not set in stone, of course. More like a target date. But expect a return by the face of the franchise before next season.
The two-time league MVP has been steadily making progress in his recovery as he has shed the cast on his wrist and is participating in shooting drills. This target date gives him roughly over a month to prove that he can get back on the court.
Although the Warriors’ season has gone south, the Warriors do have the incentive to get him back on the court. It will be due to the desire to see how he and All-Star guard D’Angelo Russell can play alongside each for an extended period. That will give the team a better idea if they should retain Russell or look to move to acquire additional assets to get them back in the title picture next season and beyond that.
