Leon Rose Named New Knicks President
Former NBA agent Leon Rose has been given the job of revitalizing the New York Knicks franchise.
Leon Rose was announced as the new Knicks president on Monday, following the trend of former agents becoming presidents.
Leon Rose follows in the footsteps of Bob Myers and Rob Pelinka, who have enjoyed success at the Warriors and the Lakers.Â
Rose has been brought in for a long-term rebuild after seven seasons out of the playoffs for New York.

“Leon is one of the most respected executives in professional basketball, with decades of experience successfully working with NBA players and team management in all facets of the game,” said MSG chairman James Dolan.
“We are confident he brings the right combination of expertise and relationships to ensure the long-term success of our franchise.”
A New Jersey Native, Rose won’t have any adaptation problems with the Knicks. He says he knows how special basketball is for the city, and hopes to return the franchise to success.
“New York is the epicenter of basketball and Madison Square Garden has always been very special to me,” Rose said.Â
“To be a part of the Knicks revitalization and basketball at the Garden is a challenge and a rare opportunity, one to be cherished, and I will do my utmost to make the fans, the city and ownership proud.”

However, after a dismal decade, he knows that he has a difficult job on his hands.
“Nothing about this is easy, or quick, so I ask for your continued patience,” Rose wrote in an email to season-ticket holders.Â
“What I promise you in return is that I will be honest and forthright. We will develop a plan that makes sense, both to jumpstart our short-term growth and ensure our long-term success.”
