Broncos QB Drew Lock motivated to prove his worth
The 2019 season saw the Denver Broncos transition their future over to quarterback Drew Lock as the centerpiece of the franchise.
The Broncos have been desperately looking to find their next cornerstone at the position since Peyton Manning’s departure. With that in mind, Lock has voiced that he is more than motivated to prove general manager John Elway that he made the right choice. (H/T Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk)

“I know there’s been a lot of talk about the quarterbacks in Denver,” Lock said. “You know, Peyton was the man there, obviously. We’ve had some good ones, and up-and-down [QBs] in there, and I didn’t want to be that for John. I wanted to be a steady guy for him. I wanted to show everybody that they drafted the right quarterback.”
Lock had his fair share of ups and downs in his rookie campaign, but he had several promising moments. That was enough for the team to move off effectively from Joe Flacco and not take a quarterback in this year’s draft. Instead, Elway has added more skilled-position talent around Lock, such as former Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and former Penn State wideout K.J. Hamler to the mix.

He has the keys to the franchise, and it’s on his shoulders to prove he can lead the team to success. Elway has done nothing but voice absolute confidence in his ability, which has set the table for him to make his mark in the league in 2020.
