Another NBA player tests positive for COVID-19

As the Los Angeles Clippers prepare for the NBA’s season to resume in Orlando, they’ll now have to do it without one of their key players. Landry Shamet became the latest NBA player to test positive for COVID-19, putting his availability to return this season in jeopardy.

Just days before the Los Angeles Clippers were set to leave for Orlando, shooting guard Landry Shamet tested positive for COVID-19 and isn’t expected to travel to Orlando.

The 23-year-old guard, a first-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, was a key contributor off the bench for Los Angeles. Before the NBA suspended its season in March, Shamet averaged 27.5 minutes per game and shot 39.2% from three-point range.

He started to get hot before the league suspended operations, shooting 42.6% from beyond the arc in February, while averaging 11.3 points per contest.
