Lakers Could Win NBA Title on Friday

The Los Angeles Lakers moved to within one win of the team’s first NBA title in 10 years on Tuesday.

After beating the Heat 102 – 96, the Lakers can win the Championship in Game 5 on Friday.

LeBron James finished with 28 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. However, it was Anthony Davis who provided the key moment. His three pointer with 40 seconds left effectively sealed the game for Los Angeles.

“Felt like a finals game,” LeBron James said. 

“Felt like both teams were desperate … and that’s what it’s all about.”

Jimmy Butler’s incredible 40 point triple double in Game 3 delayed LA’s title procession for at least one game. While LeBron and A.D competed in that game, the Lakers lacked a contribution from Danny Green and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

Lakers coach Frank Vogel on Sunday insisted that he retains faith in the pair.

“Those guys have been fine,” Vogel said.

“They have been great for us all year. We have to execute as a group better. If we execute as a group better, have more intent to get higher shot quality, then those guys will be fine.”

They both repaid that faith in Game 4, with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope finishing with 15 points. Danny Green finished with 10 points as the Lakers closed out Miami in a tight, yet secure performance.

Bam Adebayo returned for the Heat after injuring his neck in Game 1, and finished with 15 points. Jimmy Butler scored 22, while Herro and Robinson scored 21 and 17 respectively.

Butler has enjoyed the underdog tag so far this postseason, and despite their good position, the Lakers aren’t taking anything for granted.

“The job is not done,” LeBron James said.
