Winless Adam Gase Faces Tough Jets Run

The New York Jets’ dismal start to the season continued with Sunday’s loss against former Adam Gase team Miami Dolphins.

The 24 – 0 loss puts them on a record of 0 – 6 on the season. They’re the only team left without a win. As well as that, it was the first shut out all season in the NFL.

All of their defeats so far have been by double-digit points. The Jets have scored just one touchdown in two games as they struggle to start well.

“We can’t wait until the fourth quarter to start playing ball,” said RB Frank Gore.

Two coaches have already been fired so far this year for going winless. While the frustration of Adam Gase is evident, he says he’s not thinking about being fired.

“It sucks,” he said.

“Everyone is trying to do everything they can to win a game.

“We haven’t done anything well at all,” Adam Gase continued.

The Jets head coach has been under scrutiny since last season. It looks likely that this year will also be unsalvageable. However, he is also the victim of internal dysfunction.

The Jets recently released running back Le’Veon Bell, whose New York tenure was doomed to fail. By all accounts, Gase never wanted him. Bell was brought in by Mike Maccagnan, who was dismissed as GM two months later.

As well as that, star safety Jamal Adams was traded before the start of the season. Both Jamal Adams and Le’Veon Bell were both reportedly desperate to leave the Jets.

The Dolphins defeat was their second-worst of the season. To make matters worse, it was against a divisional rival who are clearly further along in their process than the Jets are. Gase may not be thinking about getting fired right now, but he will be soon. The Jets’ next two games are against the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs.
