With the start date nearing closer, the league has released that the Los Angeles Lakers will face the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day, according to ESPN.

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic will make his Christmas Day debut against the world champion Los Angeles Lakers as part of a blockbuster slate of tentative holiday games, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Lakers are coming off an impressive campaign that saw them guide their way to their 17th NBA title. In Anthony Davis’ first season in LA, he quickly developed a strong connection playing alongside LeBron James.
The two anchored the Lakers’ success toward a dominant run through the playoff toward securing a championship. LA has only further ramped up the excitement around the team this offseason after adding more talent to the mix.

LA has beefed up their bench with Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell while retaining Markieff Morris. These moves have only further cemented them as the clear-cut title favorites.
The Dallas Mavericks are coming off an encouraging campaign that saw Luka Doncic continue to blossom into an elite talent. Doncic guided the Mavericks back into the playoff first time in three years behind an MVP-worthy effort.
