Texans QB Deshaun Watson wants out of Houston no matter who is the new head coach
Things continue to get progressively worse for the Houston Texans regarding the future of star quarterback Deshaun Watson.
The 25-year-old gunslinger has expressed his displeasure with the organization. He seems to be adamant about wanting to be traded as soon as possible. He wanted a say in the hiring of a new head coach and general manager, but now it doesn’t seem to matter as his mind is made up, via Pro Football Talk.

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Watson wants out of Houston and that won’t change, regardless of who the Texans hire to be their next head coach.
Along with being adamant about wanting a trade, it appears Watson also knows where he’d want to go. Reports suggest it comes down to the New York Jets or the Miami Dolphins. Miami was thought to be the ideal destination for Watson as they can compete right away with a quarterback of his caliber under center. However it seems as though Watson would prefer to go to New York.

That development makes things that much more interesting as the Jets fell short of securing the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, which will almost certainly be Clemson star, Trevor Lawrence. Sam Darnold doesn’t seem to be the guy they were hoping he would be. As a result New York could be highly motivated to make this happen unless they’ve become enamored with another quarterback outside of Lawrence coming out of college.
