4. Kansas City’s defense is built to bother Tom Brady
This is a very underrated storyline of the game. Kansas City defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has beaten Brady before in the Super Bowl, finishing off the previously-undefeated New England Patriots in 2007. Earlier this year, the teams saw each other in Week 12 and Brady threw a pair of interceptions, facing constant pressure from blitzes. The Chiefs are going to bring the heat all night.
3. The Chiefs weapons are overwhelming
Yes, the Buccaneers have good receivers. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown are terrific. Yet the Chiefs are on an entirely different level with All-Pros in tight end Travis Kelce and receiver Tyreek Hill. Sammy Watkins is also an elite third weapon, while fellow receivers Mecole Hardman and Demarcus Robinson are always capable of making the splash play. No team in football is more equipped to score often and quickly than the Chiefs.

Mahomes is the best player in the world. Aaron Rodgers will win the 2020 NFL MVP and rightfully so, but nobody is more terrifying than Mahomes for an opposing defense. The Chiefs have the weapons as mentioned above to dominate, and Mahomes is the hardest quarterback in football to contain with his absurd combination of smarts, athleticism, accuracy and arm strength. Mahomes is the most unstoppable force in the league, and he’s shown why his entire career.

Sometimes we go too deep into the proverbial weeds. We overlook the obvious. The Kansas City Chiefs have been the best team in football for the last two years. They won the Super Bowl last season, and they’ve lost only one of Mahomes’ last 26 starts. Kansas City also has one of the league’s most difficult defenses to figure out, while the roster boasts five likely Hall of Famers. Beating the Chiefs is going to be a bear.
