Knicks: Brian Windhorst hints NBA star will force his way to New York
The New York Knicks are an NBA team on the rise after so many years of futility. The storied franchise has got something going this year. Players like Julius Randle, Derrick Rose and R.J. Barrett are leading the way.
Although the Knicks are on the right track right now, the team definitely needs another star to truly become a force in the Eastern Conference for the foreseeable future. Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards could prove to be that player, as ESPN’s Brian Windhorst hints that a superstar or All-Star-caliber player could end up forcing their way to New York.

“I say within the next 12 months a star slash superstar player demands a trade to New York. And I don’t know who it’s going to be. I have some guesses. I’m not going to say right here. I’ll let you guys start thinking about that. Let’s just put it this way: League executives certainly have some guesses. And I say by next year’s trade deadline a player – a superstar, All-Star player – tries to force his way there.”
Beal has been adamant about not wanting the Wizards to trade him this season or at any point in the near future. However, the Wizards continue to be headed in the wrong direction even though Beal is having an incredible season in which he’s leading the NBA in scoring.

The writing appears to be on the wall that Beal could ultimately force a trade if the frustration in Washington is something he doesn’t want to continue to deal with during the prime of his NBA career. Could he be the catalyst for an NBA resurgence in New York?
