2021 NFL win totals: 5 bets to take the under
The 2021 NFL win totals have been released in Vegas, and we look at which bets would be wise on the under.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars (6)
Last season, the Jaguars won in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts and then never again. Yes, they’re landing Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 overall pick and have college legend Urban Meyer coming in as head coach, but does that mean a six-game improvement? The AFC South is soft enough for that to be a possibility, but it’s unlikely. Plus, if Meyer or Lawrence is a bust, there’s absolutely no path for this to happen.

4. New Orleans Saints (9.5)
The Saints are a good football team with a bad quarterback. Jameis Winston is taking over from Drew Brees who, while not the same player he was last season, remained one of the more reliable quarterbacks in the league. Now Winston steps to the fore after sitting behind Brees in 2020. The year prior, he was the starter for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he threw for more than 5,000 yards but also 30 interceptions. Tough to see New Orleans winning 10 games with that line.
3. San Francisco 49ers (10)
This is a tough case, but the Niners have some obvious problems. For one, many of their stars have a significant injury history, including current starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Assuming Garoppolo gets moved at some point over the next few weeks, San Francisco will roll with a rookie quarterback in what appears to be the toughest division in football. Not exactly the best way to make a case for the over on what is a high number.

2. Philadelphia Eagles (7)
Tough to see the Eagles winning eight games, even in the hideous NFC East. Philadelphia doesn’t have an elite weapon anywhere on offense and is rolling with an unproven second-year quarterback in Jalen Hurts. Even if things real right for first-year head coach Nick Sirianni in 2021, it’s hard to picture the Eagles approaching or superseding a .500 record.
1. Las Vegas Raiders (8)
Why are the Raiders getting even this number? They won eight games a year ago but lost three key offensive linemen in center Rodney Hudson, guard Gabe Jackson and right tackle Trent Brown. Wide receiver Nelson Agholor is also out, while the defense remains a major, major problem. Finally, the AFC West is a good division led by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, but also the emergent Justin Herbert and his Los Angeles Chargers.
