Buffalo Bills have to figure out how to beat Chiefs in AFC
If the Buffalo Bills are getting to the Super Bowl, they need more from their defense. As well as that, they need more from their coaches and quarterback Josh Allen.
In two games against the Kansas City Chiefs last season, the Buffalo Bills were outclassed. Badly. Losing in both Week 6 at home and the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium, the Buffalo defense allowed a combined 64 points while MVP candidate, quarterback Josh Allen, threw for a paltry 409 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions.
Furthermore, it appeared the Bills’ coaching staff — one of the league’s best with coordinators Brian Daboll and Leslie Frazier, and head coach Sean McDermott — was bamboozled by Kansas City’s.

In the first meeting, the Chiefs ran for 245 yards as Buffalo dared Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes to throw. In the rematch with a trip to Super Bowl LV on the line, Mahomes torched Buffalo’s secondary. He threw for 325 yards and three scores while tight end Travis Kelce and star wide receiver Tyreek Hill accounted for 290 yards and two touchdowns.
Going into 2021, Kansas City must be the sole focus of Buffalo. The Bills have already proven they are the class of the AFC East. They won 13 games and a division crown last year. With almost the same roster back and the three competitors improved but not a true threat, Buffalo has only one proverbial white whale to catch.
In Week 5, the Bills are going to get their first — and maybe not the only — crack at Kansas City. The two sides will come together on Sunday Night Football at Arrowhead. A national audience will see how far the Bills have come, or how far they have to go.

Much of the storyline will be about Allen having to outduel Mahomes in his own building. However, the reality is different. It’s Buffalo’s defense which needs to step up. It only got two sacks and little other pressure in the two meetings last year. If that type of display is put forth come October, the Chiefs are winning, and they’re doing so with considerable ease.
After adding a pair of pass-rushers in the draft, Buffalo is hoping to harass Mahomes and see Allen improve against the only foe to slow him down in 2020. If that happens, the Bills could be headed to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1993. Perhaps they will find a different outcome once they’re there.
