Rams legend Eric Dickerson says it’s ‘a no-brainer’ for L.A. to sign Todd Gurely
The Los Angeles Rams were dealt a vicious blow this week. They will be without leading rusher Cam Akers for the upcoming 2021 NFL season. Akers suffered a torn Achilles ending his season and putting the rest of his NFL career in doubt.
With the Rams expected to be a title contender in the NFC, legendary running back Eric Dickerson has an idea, which he believes is a no-brainer for Los Angeles. Dickerson thinks Sean McVay and company should bring back veteran running back Todd Gurley, via TMZ.

“That’s a no-brainer,” Dickerson said of re-inking Gurley. “I mean, he knows the offense, he knows this offense. He doesn’t have to come in and try and learn it.”
“He knows [Sean] McVay, he knows the guys on the team — that would be an easy fit.”
Although Dickerson makes a lot of sense with his statement, especially with Gurley remaining unsigned at this point, Los Angeles appears ready to give running backs already on the team a chance to prove themselves. Darrell Henderson will most likely be the player looked upon to fill the giant void left by Akers’ absence.

Despite the fact the Rams want to stick with players already on the squad, that could change quickly if weaknesses are exposed during training camp. Gurley could have a second chance with the Rams if the team eventually has a change of heart in the coming weeks.
