Ravens QB Lamar Jackson ‘immersed’ in NFL season rather than contract talks

Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens have had a positive and ongoing dialogue about a lucrative contract extension, league sources told ESPN, but the star quarterback does not have an agent negotiating the deal.
As Jackson prepares for Baltimore’s season opener Monday night against the Raiders in Las Vegas, he is immersed in his quarterbacking job, a primary reason that he and the Ravens haven’t yet agreed to an extension. Negotiations have taken a back seat throughout training camp and into the season, according to sources, but both sides expect to complete a deal.
Jackson currently doesn’t have an agent, which makes the contract discussion process more bearing on him. The two sides possess a significant interest in working out a long-term contract, but it hasn’t led to a new deal hammered out.

With other star quarterbacks, such as Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Dak Prescott receiving lucrative deals over the last year, he’s up next to receive a massive contract. His performance has more than warrants a new lucrative extension from the Ravens.
It may simply be a matter of time before Jackson has his next deal with the Ravens to keep him for the long haul in Baltimore.
