Chicago Bulls Have ‘A Chip On Their Shoulder’ This Season
The Chicago Bulls are the last remaining undefeated team in the East after their best start in 25 years.
Only three players – Coby White, Patrick Williams and Zach LaVine remain from last year’s starting roster. The Chicago Bulls rebuilt a new team over the summer, featuring Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan.
As a result, the Chicago Bulls have raced out to a 4 – 0 start to the new NBA season. They have only done this four times in their history and that was all when Michael Jordan was in the team.
It’s the first time in LaVine’s NBA career that he’s been a part of a four-game winning streak. As well as that, it’s the first time Chicago has not been over .500 since MArch 2017.
Want $250 to bet on the NBA?
DeMar DeRozan says he knew he was joining a Bulls organization that was ready to win this season.
“Part of the reason why I even chose to come to Chicago was everyone was eager to be successful, to want to win,” DeRozan said after Monday’s game.Â
“Everybody had that chip on their shoulder, from the city to the organization to the players that I spoke to.
“That was everybody’s mindset, it’s all about winning now. We’re not in a development stage, we want to win now.”
However, the schedule gets a little tougher over the next six games. Matchups against the 76ers (twice), the Knicks, the Jazz, the Celtics and the Nets will be a good litmus test for the team.

“We’ve got a long way to go,” DeRozan said. “We’ve got a lot more to clean up, to learn. It’s a long season, man. [The 4-0 start] is great, but we’ve got a lot more basketball to go. We can’t carry this record like it’s some kind of badge of honor; we’ve got to understand that the next game is going to be even harder.”
