Deshaun Watson continues to try to angle his way to the Dolphins
As the Nov. 2 trade deadline inches closer, it’s brought more attention to the future of Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Reports continue to circulate that the Texans plan to move the Pro Bowler before next month’s deadline. However, there is a tricky wrinkle that could complicate things as Jeremy Fowler of ESPN is reporting that Deshaun Watson is willing to consider a few options with his no-trade clause.

Meanwhile, it’s become quite clear that Watson is angling to work his way to join the Dolphins.
Multiple teams are interested in Watson. Although his interest in joining the Dolphins has become a worst-kept secret of sorts in league circles, the source disputed the notion that it’s simply Miami or bust.
Miami remains linked to Watson due to the star quarterback’s interest. Meanwhile the team’s continued struggles in 2021 have only added to that chatter. The Dolphins have publicly denied any interest in the 26-year-old, as head coach Brian Flores voiced that he only wants “high character” players on his team.

Flores has also publicly backed second-year quarterback Tua Tagovialoa as the team’s future under center. Tagovailoa has struggled in 2021 due to inconsistent play and injury, as he’s missed three games.
Meanwhile, teams like the Carolina Panthers have inched into the picture as a potential landing spot. Head coach Matt Rhule publicly shot down the report and backed Sam Darnold as the team’s starter through at least Week 8.
As the trade deadline moves closer, there will be more chatter on this front.
