NFL Week 8 schedule: 5 QBs primed for huge games
Which quarterbacks are going to post huge stats this weekend? We look at the matchups on the NFL Week 8 schedule and tell you.
5. Carson Wentz, Indianapolis Colts
The Colts host the Tennessee Titans this week, who despite holding the Kansas City Chiefs to three points last week, have a hurting and suspect secondary. Wentz has done a great job avoiding mistakes, only throwing one interception this year. He should find T.Y. Hilton and Michael Pittman Jr. consistently, putting Indy in position to get back to .500.

4. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
You have to worry a little bit about a letdown game with quarterback Mike White and the one-win New York Jets on the other side of the field. However, Burrow has played at a top-10 level this season, throwing for 18 touchdowns on the campaign. The Jets are absolutely rancid, and Burrow has an embarrassing amount of weapons including rookie receiver Ja’Marr Chase along with running mates Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. Expect big numbers.
3. Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings
Cousins gets a good matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, who while 5-1 have no pass rush. If Cousins can avoid throwing the ball at All-World cornerback Trevon Diggs, he should be in good shape. Look for Minnesota to take advantage of other mismatches on the outside with receivers Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson, perhaps probing the Dallas secondary for the big play. With two weeks to prepare for this defense, the veteran Cousins should go off.

2. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
If Mahomes can stop turning the ball over, he should have a huge game against the New York Giants at home on Monday night. The former MVP is still top five in both passing yards and touchdowns, along with being top-10 in QBR. However, he’s pacing the NFL with 11 turnovers. If he can correct his errors, look for Mahomes to go nuts in a must-win game for the Chiefs, as he should torch the Giants with Travis Kelce in the middle and Tyreek Hill on the outside.
1. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Any time the Houston Texans are involved against a decent opponent, this is the way to go. The Rams are 6-1 after beating the Detroit Lions and Stafford is worthy of serious MVP consideration. With Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods s his top weapons on the perimeter, Stafford should take apart the Houston defense, one of the league’s weakest. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Stafford go for 400 yards here.
