Titans superstar Derrick Henry expected to miss the rest of the season
The Tennessee Titans moved to an impressive 6-2 start after topping the Indianapolis Colts in overtime in Week 8 action.
However, the Titans didn’t come away unscathed, as the team lost All-Pro running back Derrick Henry for the rest of the 2021 season due to a Jones fracture in his right foot.

“Whenever that is, that’s when it’ll be,” Vrabel said via ESPN. “I know that he’ll be around our team as soon as he can. I know that’s important to him, I know that’ll be important to our team. We will have to move on. We’ll have to move on, unfortunately, without him here in the short term and not look back.”
Henry was off another strong campaign as he led the league with 937 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on an NFL-best 219 carries. He was well on pace to earn his third straight rushing title with a trajectory to hit north of 1,800 rushing yards.
The Titans didn’t waste much time trying to fill some of the gaping void by inking former All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson to a deal. Peterson has remained a free agent since finishing the 2020 campaign with the Detroit Lions.

The 36-year-old holds the opportunity to step in to be a prominent offensive factor as he will have the first shot to pick up the starting duties and workload. He’s currently ranked fifth on the all-time rushing list and only needs 450 yards to surpass Hall of Famer Barry Sanders for fourth all-time.
