Ravens HC John Harbaugh expects Lamar Jackson to be ‘out there’ for Week 15

The Baltimore Ravens stumbled backward after suffering a tough 24-22 loss to AFC North rival Cleveland Browns.

The defeated featured star quarterback Lamar Jackson suffering a sprained right ankle in the first half. Jackson didn’t return in the contest, leaving his status for next week’s matchup against the Green Bay Packers up in the air.

The former league MVP was seen wearing a protective boot on his foot, creating more doubt about his availability. Despite that, head coach John Harbaugh didn’t exactly rule out his star quarterback.

“The plans are right now, in my mind, for Lamar to be out there,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Monday via ESPN. “So, we’ll see where it goes this week. If he can go, he’ll go. If not, Tyler [Huntley] will be the quarterback. That’s where we’re at.”

The Ravens are likely taking the approach of seeing what Jackson can accomplish first before ruling him out. He’s dealing with an injury that can take a few weeks to heal entirely, but it may come down to his pain tolerance.

Meanwhile, it may be a ploy not to allow the Packers to properly prepare for the Ravens by leaving Jackson’s availability uncertain. Baltimore sounds more than comfortable rolling with backup Tyler Huntley as the starter if necessary. Huntley performed well enough against the Browns, nearly orchestrating a comeback win on Sunday.

Beyond that, the Ravens are looking to avoid their first three-game losing streak in over a year. They currently lead the AFC North by a game and have an opportunity to secure a first-round playoff bye.
