NFL Week 16 schedule: 5 teams that need to win the most

If you’re trying to figure out which teams need to win on the NFL Week 16 schedule, we have it distilled to the top five.

5. Cleveland Browns

What are the Browns thinking right now? After coming into the season with such grand expectations, it feels like Cleveland is one the edge of going into a very, very ugly offseason. If the Browns can’t go on the road, to Lambeau Field, on a short week and win, they need to win the final two games of the regular season against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals, and hope for some help. Not going to be an easy road.

4. New Orleans Saints

The Saints put themselves in a good position by shutting out the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday night. Now, at 7-7, New Orleans heads home for another primetime game, as it hosts the Miami Dolphins on Monday. With a win, the Saints would only need to handle the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons to get to the postseason, shocking many after a midseason swoon. New Orleans desperately needs something from quarterback Taysom Hill.

3. New England Patriots

Alright, we get to the biggest game of the year for the AFC, and we’ll start with the Patriots. New England needs to beat the Bills at home, or face the almost certain reality of going to the postseason as a wild card. For the Patriots, winning this game means only needing one more victory to finish off the AFC East (or a loss by the Miami Dolphins). However, a loss to the Bills and New England must win out and hope Buffalo loses at home to the Atlanta Falcons or New York Jets.

2. Buffalo Bills

See above, but we add a bit of context from the Buffalo perspective. This was suppose to be the year where the Bills made a huge move to get out of the AFC after falling one game short last year. However, after starting 4-1 and looking like said club, they’ve gone 4-5. If the Bills are going to make it to the Super Bowl, they really need to win the division, and losing to the Patriots on Sunday afternoon would eliminate any hope of that happening.

1. Baltimore Ravens

If the Ravens drop their third straight game, this one to the Cincinnati Bengals with the AFC North lead on the line, they could legitimately fall completely out of playoff contention before Week 18. Baltimore, regardless of whether Lamar Jackson can play or not, must find a way to win.
