Bears will start veteran QB Nick Foles vs. Seahawks
The Chicago Bears are inching closer to finishing a disappointing campaign falling well short of playoff contention.
The Bears are limping toward the finish line as their quarterback situation has become marred by injuries. Chicago is without rookie Justin Fields and Andy Dalton, leaving Nick Foles as the leading option under center in Week 15 action against the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN.
Fields suffered an ankle injury during Monday’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings, while Dalton’s groin issue flared up after he returned from the COVID-19/Reserve list.
Foles has yet to play a single snap this season as he’s remained on the roster as the third option. He’s in the second year of a three-year, $24 million deal.
Last season, Foles struggled to find consistency as he passed for 1,852 yards on a 64.7 percent completion rate with 10 touchdowns to eight interceptions in nine games played. He will have his hands full against an improved Seahawks defense.

The Bears need him to bring stability under center as he and rookie Ryan Willis are the only active quarterbacks. Head coach Matt Nagy voiced that Wilis could play if the situation called for it.
“We have to balance where we’re at with what Ryan could do just getting here recently,” Nagy said. “He’s literally learning the playbook and what to do. It would probably be more of an emergency situation, and we just have to see where Justin’s at percentage-wise, where it doesn’t risk his health but he’s able to help us. If that’s not the best thing to do, trust me, we’re going to go ahead and go with Ryan.”
The Bears have dropped eight out of their last nine games.
