Aaron Rodgers promises to make a ‘quick decision’ on future with Packers
Throughout much of last offseason, the Green Bay Packers were unaware of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ future.
The three-time league MVP wound up working things out with Green Bay and returned to play for the 2021 season under a reworked contract with new conditions.
As the regular season winds down, his future with the Packers has become a prominent question as next offseason he’s expected to have more control over his future. With that in mind, Rodgers voiced that he won’t drag out the process.
“I’m not going to hold the team back from anything,” Rodgers said via ESPN. “And once I commit — and if it’s committing to move forward here — it will be a quick decision.”
At the same time, Rodgers also voiced that he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of retirement from the picture. The 38-year-old is putting together another impressive campaign as he’s 10th with 3,689 passing yards, fourth with 33 touchdown passes, and first with a 67.8 quarterback rating.
Rodgers is still playing at an elite level, which he could continue wherever he decides to play next if he plays another season. The Packers would prefer to have him back, especially with Jordan Love showcasing that he’s isn’t ready to take over as the starter.

Green Bay controls Rodgers’ contract situation, but the star quarterback has the franchise at his will. If the organization hopes to stay in Super Bowl contention beyond this year, it will need the future Hall of Famer under center.
