NFL Week 18 schedule: 5 teams on upset alert

Which teams are on upset alert for the NFL Week 18 schedule? These five should be concerned about their underdog opponents.

5. Tennessee Titans (-10) at Houston Texans

This is a long shot, but we’ve already seen some insane stuff in this rivalry. In November, the teams locked up in Tennessee and the Texans won 22-13, mostly due to five Titans turnovers. Can it happen again? Smart money says no, but Texans quarterback Davis Mills has played well, Houston has fought all year and only two weeks hammered the Los Angeles Chargers at home. Tennessee can’t take this one lightly.

4. New England Patriots (-6.5) at Miami Dolphins

The Patriots have historically struggled against the Dolphins, especially on South Beach. New England also might struggle to garner a ton of motivation as the day goes on if the Buffalo Bills are clinching the AFC East title with ease against the New York Jets up in Orchard Park. The Patriots are already in the playoffs and although winning would give them an outside shot at the division crown, this has the potential to be a classic let-down after such a hard-fought battle for 17 weeks.

3. Green Bay Packers (-4.5) at Detroit Lions

The Packers are going to be sitting everybody who matters after wrapping up the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff picture with a victory last Sunday night over the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field. Meanwhile, the Lions are trying to get their third victory of the season under rookie head coach Dan Campbell. Detroit has a shot to slow down Green Bay, with rookie quarterback Jordan Love assuringly getting the second start of his young career.

2. Baltimore Ravens (-6) at Pittsburgh Steelers

The Ravens are laying a full touchdown against the Steelers, but could be without quarterback Lamar Jackson who has missed the last three games with an ankle injury and didn’t practice each of the first two days this week. If Jackson can’t go, it helps Pittsburgh keep its slim playoff hopes alive. The Steelers need to beat the Ravens, and have the Indianapolis Colts lose to the two-win Jacksonville Jaguars. Not likely, but possible.

1. Los Angeles Chargers (-3) at Las Vegas Raiders

This is easily earning the top spot this week. The Chargers are the better team but they’re also incredibly erratic, and the Raiders have won three straight and will have the home crowd behind them. This is as close to a 50/50 matchup as we will see this weekend.
