NFL power rankings, Divisional round: Packers lead way

We take a look at the NFL power rankings entering the Divisional round, and the Green Bay Packers stay on top for now.

8. Cincinnati Bengals

This might seem like a dig at the Bengals after all their recent ascending the NFL power rankings, but it’s not. The other teams ahead of them are also really good and have postseason experience. Cincinnati is absolutely in play as an underdog going into Tennessee.

7. San Francisco 49ers

After beating the Dallas Cowboys in a bizarre Wild Card game, the 49ers now travel to take on the Green Bay Packers. It’s a winnable game for Kyle Shanahan’s crew, considering they run the ball incredibly well, and that has been the biggest problem all year for the Packers.

6. Tennessee Titans

If the Titans are going to host the AFC Championship Game for the first time in franchise history, it’ll be because Derrick Henry returns and is healthy. Without him, Tennessee needs the combination of receiver A.J. Brown and quarterback Ryan Tannehill to lead the way.

5. Los Angeles Rams

It’s going to be a tall order going to play the Buccaneers, on a short week, flying across the country. The key, as always, will be getting Tom Brady off his spot with pressure through the interior.

4. Buffalo Bills

Buffalo smoked the New England Patriots in what was the most impressive win of Wild Card weekend. Now the Bills head to Kansas City for a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship Game. It should be the game of the week, if not the NFL calendar.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tom Brady and the Bucs effortlessly carved up the Philadelphia Eagles, and now get a west coast team coming across the country, as aforementioned. The big concern is how healthy the offensive line will be, with both tackle Tristan Wirfs and center Ryan Jensen going down with injuries on Sunday afternoon.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are rolling, winners of 10 of their last 11, including a 42-21 snoozer over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round on Sunday night. Now, the Bills, in a battle of great young quarterbacks.

1. Green Bay Packers

The Packers are off their bye week and get the 49ers, who are trying to pull off the big upset at Lambeau Field on Saturday night. While San Francisco is formidable, Green Bay has the likely back-to-back MVP in quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Super Bowl, or at very least representing the NFC in it, is on its racket.
