Rams’ contract talks with Aaron Donald heading in the right direction
After the Los Angeles Rams won their first Super Bowl in more than two decades, the team remains focused on building the roster.
Near the top of the list sits re-signing star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The 29-year-old’s second torn ACL changes the dynamic a bit, but the franchise still holds a strong desire to bring him back.
“We would definitely appreciate him being a part of that diversity of [pass-catchers] we were talking about, and coming in obviously later in the season and kind of finishing things off with him,” Snead said via ESPN. “So similar to last year, although different circumstances.”
Although the Rams brought aboard former Pro Bowl wideout Allen Robinson on a three-year, $46.5 million deal, the team left financial flexibility to bring back Beckham. Robinson’s arrival alleviates the need to rush him back into the fold if he were to stay with Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Snead revealed that the Rams are holding fluid contract extension discussions with star defensive tackle Aaron Donald.
“We definitely have chatted with Aaron, his representation,” Snead said. “And we’re trying to come up with a win-win solution to reward Aaron but still definitely be able to continue trying to compete as a team at the highest level. So we’re in progress there.”
Donald hinted at possible retirement after the Super Bowl 56 win, but that chatter has since dwindled. He is eyeing a lucrative extension that will possibly make him the highest-paid defensive player in league history.
Donald is in the fourth year of his six-year, $135 million deal that runs through the 2024 campaign.
