Bills sign star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to lucrative contract extension
Over the last couple of seasons, the Buffalo Bills have become a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
Star wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been a significant part of the equation as Josh Allen’s top receiving option. The Bills have now secured his services for a few more seasons after inking him to a four-year, $104 million extension that includes $70 million guaranteed.
Diggs took to social media to air his excitement about his new deal that will keep him in Buffalo through 2027.
“There was so much work put in to get to this point but I am beyond happy to know that I will be playing the rest of my career with BILLS MAFIA. Words cannot describe how I’m feeling right now,” Diggs wrote in an Instagram post via ESPN.
Before the deal, Diggs had two years remaining on his contract that now could extend through his retirement with the franchise. He has become a key piece of the offensive puzzle in his first two seasons, recording 230 receptions for 2,760 yards.
His numbers are headlined by his best campaign in 2020, where he notched 127 catches for 1,535 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Although he didn’t quite produce up to that benchmark in 2021, he notched a career-high 10 touchdown receptions.

Over the last two seasons, he’s in the top 10 in catches, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Only Pro Bowlers Davante Adams and Cooper Kupp have more receptions than him over that stretch. Diggs will continue to remain Allens’ primary receiving target which should see several more highly productive campaigns ahead.
