2022 NFL Playoffs: Which favorite is on upset alert?
The 2022 NFL playoffs move into the Divisional round this week. Below we look at which favorite is most on upset alert.
4. Kansas City Chiefs (-8.5) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Chiefs are the biggest favorite of the weekend and after going 6-10-1 against the spread in the regular season, perhaps they aren’t a great bet to cover against the Jaguars, who have won six straight including a will 27-0 comeback over the Los Angeles Chargers. However, covering and winning are two different things, as Kansas City’s 14-3 record will attest to. Jacksonville has been terrific down the stretch and don’t count it out, but this is a longshot for the underdogs.

3. Philadelphia Eagles (-7.5) vs. New York Giants
The Giants lost twice to the Eagles during the regular season, albeit with Week 18 basically being a scrimmage from New York’s perspective as the game meant nothing. Now, the NFC East foes will tangle once more, this time with a trip to the NFC Championship Game on the line. While the Eagles are the better team, they are also quite beat up with quarterback Jalen Hurts and right tackle Lane Johnson both working through injuries, among others. Is that enough for the Giants to waltz into Lincoln Financial Field and pull the upset?
2. San Francisco 49ers (-4) vs. Dallas Cowboys
This is where things really begin to get interesting. The Cowboys hammered the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night, with Dak Prescott eclipsing 300 passing yards and adding four touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Niners were in a dogfight with the Seattle Seahawks for the better part of three quarters before pulling away late to win 41-23. If the Cowboys can get pressure on 49er quarterback Brock Purdy, this could be a really tough game for the home side.

1. Buffalo Bills (-5.5) vs. Cincinnati Bengals
This is the best game of the weekend. It might be the best game of the year, depending on how things shake out. Cincinnati is loaded on offense with quarterback Joe Burrow, running back Joe Mixon and receivers Ja’Marr Chase, Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins. Conversely, Buffalo has signal-caller Josh Allen, back Devin Singletary, and receivers Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs. In short, expect a ton of points, some big plays and the deciding factor being which team can exploit the other’s weaknesses both the quickest and with sustainability.
