Bucks become NBA title favorites after Lillard trade
After taking down the resilient Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets won their first NBA title in franchise history. They appeared to be the team to beat in the league for many years to come.
The two-headed monster of Jokic and Murray is formidable and could go down as one of the best NBA duos. However, the Milwaukee Bucks made a move this week to counter what the defending NBA champions are doing.

The Bucks acquired superstar guard Damian Lillard in a three-team deal that has sent shockwaves throughout the league, resulting in Milwaukee jumping ahead of Denver as the favorite to win it all during the 2023-24 NBA season, according to ESPN.
The Milwaukee Bucks emerged as the consensus betting favorites to win the NBA title Wednesday after ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported they would be acquiring superstar guard Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers in a three-team blockbuster deal that shook up the odds at U.S. sportsbooks.
These two superstars have yet to play a minute on the floor together. Although, the consensus is that this duo will be the best in the league during this upcoming season. As a result, the odds have shifted from Denver to Milwaukee.
The Bucks moved ahead of the defending-champion Nuggets and into top spot in Caesars Sportsbook’s odds to win the title. Milwaukee was +375 on Wednesday afternoon, after the deal was reported. The Nuggets were +425, followed by the Boston Celtics (+500) and Phoenix Suns (+550). No other teams had single-digit title odds at Caesars.
It remains to be seen if this duo will truly live up to expectations, but on paper, the Bucks look as intimidating as ever, with some of the greatest players in the league history leading the way next season.
