Stefon Diggs appreciates Bills QB Josh Allen defending him for outburst

After crushing the Dolphins, the Bills headed into their London showdown with Jacksonville will high hopes of getting another win. Unfortunately, that didn’t turn out to be the case, with Trevor Lawrence and company coming out on top, 25-20.

During the loss to the Jaguars, star wide receiver Stefon Diggs was seen having another outburst on the sideline. As a result more questions about his relationship with superstar quarterback Josh Allen rose. Allen quickly shot down that notion and said he’s growing tired of that narrative, which Diggs really appreciated via ESPN.

“Obviously, I’m thankful to have a quarterback who has my back and someone who understands, somebody who is out there, somebody who plays the game of football,” Diggs said on Thursday when asked about recent comments by quarterback Josh Allen. “For other people, it’s hard for me to put it in words how much time and effort goes into football and how serious it is out there. When things aren’t going right and you put a lot on yourself and you want more for yourself, you want more for your team.”

Clearly, Diggs is an emotional player and can express that emotion often while on the field or on the sideline. We’ve seen this many times during his stint for the Bills.

However, that doesn’t mean that emotion is being directed at someone else, which Diggs tries to explain.

“He’s a competitor; he’s a fiery competitor. I’m tired of hearing all this nonsense from people,” Allen said. “There’s a lot of guys in the league that have that same fire that don’t get talked about. He’s a lot of our juice on the sideline, making sure the offense is staying up and as energized as possible and we feed off of that.”

Fortunately for Buffalo, there’s no issues between their two star players on offense, and they can get back to work this weekend in a game in which the team is heavily favored against the lowly New York Giants.
