Rumors swirling about Bill Belichick and the Patriots parting ways
For the first time in New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick’s career, serious questions concern his long-term future.
Multiple reports are emerging that Belichick could be out of a job at season’s end due to the Patriots’ lack of sustained success.
Ahead of the Week 15 matchup against the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, Belichick avoided discussing his job status with the same continuous answer.

“I’m getting ready for Kansas City,” Belichick voiced on Wednesday via ESPN.
Belichick clearly isn’t going to talk about his job stability in New England. However, it’s hard to look past the team’s struggles. The  Patriots sit at a 3-10 record, falling to a second straight year missing the playoffs.
It marks the third time in the last four seasons that New England will not earn a  playoff spot. It’s their first double-digit losing campaign since 2000.
The Patriots are in rebuild mode with serious questions concerning their quarterback’s future. Mac Jones has regressed in his performance leading to him losing the starting job.

Meanwhile, Bailey Zappe did lead the Patriots to a 21-18 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but there isn’t much talk that he will be the future under center.
Owner Robert Kraft wants to return to being a playoff constant, and the Patriots are so far removed from that status.
All of that will keep the spotlight on Belichick as the 2023 regular season moves toward a close. Time will tell if he will remain the NFL’s longest-tenure active head coach in New England.
