Ravens will get Lamar Jackson more involved in offense scheme moving forward
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens are heading into another offseason falling short of reaching the Super Bowl.
A huge discussion around the team concerns Jackson’s contribution offensively, especially during the playoffs. However, it appears that the Ravens are moving toward their star quarterback becoming more involved in the offensive scheme.
“Those are things that are on his mind, and those are things that he’s going to be involved with the staff talking about,” head coach John Harbaugh said via ESPN. “I’m excited about that. He wants to do it, and he’s just into it, man.”
The Ravens plan to give Jackson more of a role in helping build the offensive scheme, pass protection, and route concepts.
Baltimore is coming off an impressive season that saw them capture the top overall seed in the AFC playoff picture behind a 13-4 record. Jackson leads the charge in what will likely be his second MVP award.
Although his numbers were not flashy, he finished with 3,678 passing yards and 24 touchdowns passes along with a 102.7 passer rating and career-best numbers with a 67.2 completion rate and 8.0 yards per pass attempt.

Baltimore is likely hoping that this change will help elevate Jackson to the next level as a passer. He’s already proven to be a dangerous factor with his legs, but it’s been his passing in the playoffs that hasn’t been up to the standard that the team needs to make a serious Super Bowl push.
Time will tell if this new approach will lead to the Ravens finally getting over the hump in the postseason.
