Chiefs WR Rashee Rice claims he’s ‘learned so much’ from offseason issues
Kansas City Chiefs second-year wide receiver Rashee Rice went through an eventful offseason. The narrative shifted and drew plenty of concern around his NFL future.
Despite that, Rice voiced that he learned and grew from the experience.
“I’ve learned so much from that,” he said via ESPN. “All I can do is mature and continue to grow from that. This is a step in a better direction for me.”

Rice was involved in a multiple-vehicle car crash in Dallas back in April. He also remains a suspect in another situation where an alleged assault occurred in a Dallas nightclub in May.
The 24-year-old was arrested and charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injury as a result of his involvement in a six-car crash.
Rice is being sued in Texas for more than $1 million in actual damages and $10 million in punitive damages by two people who said that they were injured in that incident. All of that has left lingering legal issues lying overhead.

Even with all that remaining unresolved, he has participated in offseason practices with the Chiefs. His involvement with the team hasn’t wavered, but it raises concerns that his off-the-field behavior has gotten him into significant legal trouble.
Even with that uncertainty, Rice has chosen to focus on improving himself moving forward.
“Accidents and stuff like that happen, but all you can do is move forward and walk around being the same person, try to be positive so that everybody can feel your love and your great energy,” Rice said.
