Jets inform Haason Reddick that he won’t be traded
As Pro Bowl pass rusher Haason Reddick continues his contract holdout, the New York Jets made the firm stance that the team will not honor his trade request.
“We have informed Haason that we will not trade him, that he is expected to be here with his teammates, and that he will continue to be fined per the CBA if he does not report,” general manager Joe Douglas said in the statement via ESPN. “Since the trade discussions back in March we have been clear, direct, and consistent with our position. Our focus will remain on the guys we have here as we prepare for the regular season.”

Reddick has missed 21 days of training camp, which holds a mandatory $50,000 fine per day. All that, along with him losing out on his bonus money for an offseason bonus, amasses to $1.7 million.
The Jets had acquired Reddick in hopes of adding his pass-rush presence to their defensive front. New York traded a 2026 conditional third-round selection to the Philadelphia Eagles for the 29-year-old.
The Jets made the move due to the assumption that he would play under his current contract, which he is in the final year of his three-year, $45 million deal.

In seven seasons, he has recorded 58 sacks, 17 forced fumbles, and 410 total tackles in 114 regular-season games. He has 3.5 sacks and 10 tackles in four playoff games.
Reddick has notched double-digit sack totals in the last four campaigns, earning his lone two Pro Bowl selections in his two seasons with the Eagles.
