Raiders rule out QB Gardner Minshew for the rest of the season
The Las Vegas Raiders’ disappointing season has taken another terrible turn, with starting quarterback Gardner Minshew suffering a broken collarbone in Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos.
The injury occurred after he fell awkwardly on his left shoulder, resulting in him leaving the field in significant pain while holding his left arm as he walked off the field.

Minshew will likely miss the rest of the season, leaving the team with even more question marks at the quarterback position. He is in the first year of his two-year, $25 million deal, which could have seen him take his last snap in a Raiders uniform.
Las Vegas is left with Desmond Ridder and Aidan O’Connell, who was elevated off the injured reserve for the first time since breaking his thumb on his right hand on Oct. 20.
The Raiders are expected to move forward with O’Connell as the starter for Friday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“We’re going to need somebody, right?” Pierce said via ESPN. “We’re running out of quarterbacks, too, now, so we’ll see what happens [Monday]. But obviously, it looks like [O’Connell is] getting better. He threw a little bit in practice this week.
“Obviously, we’ve got a short week — play on Friday, travel on Thursday — so we have to make that decision very quickly.”
The Raiders have been nothing short of a disappointment this season, falling toward one of the worst records in the league. All of these struggles may lead to the team taking a quarterback in the first round of next year’s draft.
