Ravens’ Zay Flowers may ‘have a chance’ to play vs. Bills

As the Baltimore Ravens prepare to face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night in the divisional playoff round, the team may have to head into the primetime matchup without Pro Bowl wide receiver Zay Flowers.

Flowers is dealing with a right knee injury that he suffered in the season finale against the Cleveland Browns. It’s forced him to miss the wildcard game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and may prevent him from playing against the Bills.

Flowers didn’t practice all week and is listed as doubtful, but despite that head coach John Harbaugh remains optimistic that the star wideout could take the field.

“I think he’ll have a chance,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said after Friday’s practice via ESPN.

Although Flowers hasn’t been able to participate in practice, he went through an individual workout where he did some running while wearing a knee brace. All that leaves the door open for Flowers to possibly take the field against the Bills.

He has been a key part of the Ravens’ explosive offense with his big-play ability while taking a step forward in his second NFL season. Flowers posted his first career 1,000-yard campaign behind 74 receptions and hauled in four touchdowns that earned him his first Pro Bowl selection.

If he’s unable to play on Sunday night, the Ravens will look to lean on their tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely while Rashod Bateman will also see an increased role. Bateman is coming off recording two catches for 24 receiving yards and a touchdown.
