Cowboys’ Jerry Jones reacts to Micah Parsons’ trade request
The plot thickens when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys and contract negotiations with superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons, with Jerry Jones reacting to his best player’s trade request.

Jones is no stranger to controversy or rubbing players and coaches the wrong way with the way he does business as the team owner and general manager. Parsons is the latest player to express his discontent with contract talks, which led to this reaction by Jones, via Todd Archer of ESPN.
“I think the world of Micah,” Jones said after Saturday’s practice. “And that [request] is just a part of negotiation.”
This was what Parsons put on social media earlier this week, expressing his desire to play elsewhere due to the contract talks not going as he had hoped.
“Unfortunately I no longer want to be here,” Parsons wrote. “I no longer want to be held to close door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization our fans and my teammates. I no longer want narratives created and spread to the media about me. I had purposely stayed quiet in hopes of getting something done.”
Jones claims that he offered Parsons “a lot more” than what people are guessing, but he didn’t clarify this with an actual number.
“What y’all don’t know is what I offered him, and it’s a helluva lot more than you think I did,” Jones said. “That’s what you don’t know. … But my point is I reached. Make no mistake about it. I reached.”
At this point, it’s unclear where this will go, as Parsons is clearly fed up, while Jones acts as if it’s business as usual. Something has to give, as drama once again becomes a top headline for the Cowboys as training camp gets underway.
