49ers superstar Nick Bosa suffers devastating injury

The start of the 2025 NFL season has been rough for the San Francisco 49ers from an injury perspective, with superstar defensive end Nick Bosa being the latest to go down.

Bosa has officially suffered a torn ACL, which will end his season after just three games for the 49ers.

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan claims Bosa knew it was a torn ACL, considering he’s suffered the injury twice before and obviously knows what it feels like, via Nick Wagoner of ESPN.

“He had a pretty good idea of what we were going to find out today, but obviously, he is bummed out,” Shanahan said. “Nick can handle anything, and he’s going to handle it like he always does, which will be great. But obviously, he was bummed out from not being able to finish out this year and especially how good of a year he was having so far.”

Shanahan knows he’s got a tough challenge ahead for his defense because Bosa is irreplaceable on the football field.

“You don’t just replace a guy like Nick,” Shanahan said. “Everyone’s got to continue to get better at everything.”

Along with Bosa, the team has been dealing with injuries to offensive stars Brock Purdy (shoulder/toe), Brandon Aiyuk (knee) and George Kittle (hamstring). However, the team remains undefeated after the first three weeks, which is a good sign moving forward that they can navigate this tough stretch as currently constructed, with Mac Jones leading the way under center.
