NCAA West Bracket: Ohio State Looks like the Winner
With the #1 Gonzaga Bulldogs going down to the #9 Wichita State Shockers on Saturday, the #2 Ohio State Buckeyes look to have a clear path to the Final Four. On Sunday the Buckeyes will take on the #10 Iowa State Cyclones to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. In that round they would face the Arizona Wildcats who have looked very good in their two NCAA wins so far over the Belmont Bruins and the Harvard Crimson.
On the other side of the bracket, the Shockers are the highest seed left. They will face the winner of the #12 Ole Miss Rebels and #13 LaSalle Explorers game on Sunday. So the highest seed left to stop the Buckeyes from going to Atlanta is a #6. The Buckeyes biggest enemy now may be complacency. With all the top seeds gone from the bracket they may think they are already a sure bet to go to the Final Four. But there are some obstacles on the way such as Ole Miss and Marshall Henderson and Arizona with Mark Lyons and Nick Johnson that could derail their plans.
JustBet has odds on Sunday’s West bracket games:
Iowa State Cyclones at Ohio State Buckeyes– Iowa State is +7 -110 while the Buckeyes are -7 -110 ATS. Moneyline is Iowa State +270 and Ohio State is -330. Over/Under is 143.5 with over and under both -110.
Iowa State is a high scoring team and Ohio State hangs their hat on their defense. Which team will be able to impose its will on the other? We think the Buckeyes will. Take Ohio State -7 and the under -110.
Ole Miss Rebels vs LaSalle Explorers-Â LaSalle is +4 -110 while Ole Miss is +4 -110 ATS. Moneyline has LaSalle +167 and Ole Miss -190. Over/Under is 142. Ole Miss has a pattern. Henderson starts slow and they get behind in the first half. Then Henderson gets hot in the second half and the Rebels come from behind. Unless LaSalle buries the Rebels by halftime, watch for them to come back in the second half. We like the Explorers +4 -110 and the over-110
