Richie Incognito Held Meetings at a Strip Club, Accused of Molesting Female Volunteer in 2012
When it rains, it pours—right?
That’s certainly the case for embattled Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito, who is making headlines again, all while still dealing with the fallout from the explosive allegations that he bullied teammate Jonathan Martin to such a degree that he left the team to seek treatment for emotional distress at a medical facility across the country.
With the Martin situation still playing itself out, the last thing Incognito, who has since been suspended indefinitely, needed was another barrage of bad publicity. Although that’s exactly what he got, with stories about his questionable leadership style and a disturbing sexual molestation accusation from last year both surfacing on Friday.
Citing two anonymous sources, The National Football Post reports Incognito regularly held offensive lineman meetings at a South Florida strip club. The details are as follows:
According to two sources, suspended Dolphins guard Richie Incognito regularly held meetings for the team’s offensive linemen at a South Florida strip club, demanding that other linemen attend at the location. Incognito went so far as to “fine†teammates in an erstwhile kangaroo court if they did not show up.
“Richie wanted to set up Richie’s world as a way for everybody to act,†a team source said. “Richie thinks everybody should act that way. He doesn’t get that some guys aren’t into that behavior. Some guys don’t want to constantly explain to their wife or girlfriend why they have to go to a strip club.â€
Because nothing enhances fun like being punished for not having it! In addition to arbitrary fines, Incognito would reportedly mercilessly “mock” anyone who chose not to attend, excluding them from “the group.”
Unpleasant as the mandatory strip club meetings may be, the allegations don’t even hold a candle to the details included in a 2012 police report obtained by WPLG Local 10 in Miami. The alleged incident took place at the Turnberry Resort & Club on May 18th during the annual Fins Weekend Golf Tournament.
The female volunteer who filed the report “told police that Incognito had been drinking, and when he was at the hole where she was working, he rubbed her privates with a golf club and knocked a pair of sunglasses off her head with it.” It goes on:
“After that, he proceeded to lean up against her buttocks with his private parts as if dancing, saying ‘Let it rain! Let it rain!'” the report states. “He finally finished his inappropriate behavior by emptying bottled water in her face.”
The woman told police that a number of people witnessed Incognito’s actions, but did nothing to stop him—a story that is all too familiar at this point. She first reported the incident to her supervisor, who took then it to the Dolphins’ security team.
It wasn’t until later that she actually contacted police, because she felt nothing was being done to investigate the incident and Incognito hadn’t even apologized.
Something that former Dolphins wide receiver Nat Moore had managed to do, despite not being personally involved. Apparently a number of people apologized for Incognito, but he never bothered to do it himself.

WPLG contacted the volunteer, noting “she can’t talk about the incident because she signed a confidentiality agreement.”
Which—and I’m only speculating here—likely means that this thing never saw the inside of a courtroom because the Dolphins or Incognito, or both, negotiated a sizable cash settlement to make it all go away.
And, naturally, they sealed the deal with a confidentiality agreement. At least the woman was able to avoid a nasty public spectacle and earn a few bucks in the process. That being said, being treated and later paid off like a prostitute probably didn’t sit well with her.
It certainly doesn’t sit well with me.
Although, the resolution is not surprising in the slightest. Incognito now has an established pattern of extorting money from teammates that he enjoys throwing at women—be they strippers or volunteers at a golf tournament.
