Los Angeles Kings versus New York Islanders Prevew
East coast clashes with west coast tonight at 7 p.m. when the LA Kings take on the New York Islanders.
This is the first of two meetings between the Kings and the Islanders. Â They will clash again on Dec. 7. Â They have not faced each other since early last year. Â In their last encounter the Islanders won 2-1 but a lot has changed since then. In their last 10 the kings are 6-3-1, while the Islanders are 4-6-0. The Kings definitely have the momentum swinging in their direction.
The Kings are without starter Jonathan Quick who left the the game against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday in the middle of an overtime shootout.
The Islanders have been starting Kevin Poulin in place of their starting goalie Evgeni Nabokov in the last two game. Who will be starting this game is unknown.
LA lost to the Sabres in that overtime game, despite outshooting the Sabres 45-17 throughout the extra quarter. Â The injury to Quick is credited for the loss. Â His replacement, Ben Scrivens, was beat twice in a shootout. Â The Kings have since made some roster adjustments. We shall see if it helps their game tonight.
The Islanders had a rough 0-4 road trip last week, but returned to action on Tuesday and took it to the Nashville Predators. They will be trying to bring that momentum into this game.
The odds are close in this game with the Kings being a slight favorite with a -130 moneyline over at Bovada. Â The moneyline to bet on the Islanders is set at +110.
