Justin Verlander and Kate Upton Are Definitely, Maybe Back On

Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander may have lost to the Boston Red Sox in the ALCS, but he continues to win at life. Less than a year after he and two-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model Kate Upton broke up, it seems the one time couple is “hanging out” again.

Not that we should be expecting official confirmation from either side about their relationship status anytime soon, considering they never publicly acknowledged it last time around. But they’ve been spotted together publicly twice in the last two weeks, leading many to speculate they’re back on.

Verlander and Upton always seem to avoid the prying eye of the paparazzi, but who needs TMZ when you’ve got an army of gossipy civilians dishing the dirt on Twitter. User Heather Stevens first “reported” a sighting at a Tampa area restaurant on January 6th.

Alone the tweet wouldn’t have been particularly credible, since she didn’t include any photographic evidence to back it up. But the fact that they were spotted together just five days later, this time at a Flyers game in Philadelphia, means there’s no reason to doubt the previous sighting.

A number of fans from the game tweeted about the couple’s presence, including Vincent Santore, who also posted the above photo. The picture is blurry, but Verlander and Upton are both easily identified in the larger version.

Now that these two are officially back on the radar, but not officially back together, we’ll probably be seeing more of the in the next month or two. Verlander and Upton will have to get their quality time in now, as Tigers Spring Training begins on February 25th.
