Floyd Mayweather Accused Of Domestic Violence…Again

A number of media outlets, including TMZ Sports, have reported that Floyd Mayweather’s ex-fiancee Shantel Jackson filed a lawsuit against him on Thursday, which includes a number of very disturbing claims of violence against the boxer.

Among them are a number of detailed incidents in which Jackson alleges Mayweather threatened her with a gun.

According to the lawsuit, the first instance of violence happened in the fall of 2012, just weeks after Mayweather had finished serving a brief jail sentence for a beating he laid on Josie Harris, the mother of his three children, a year earlier.

Per Jackson’s account, “He twisted [her] arm, choked her and forcibly took her phone away from her to look at it.” After an argument in April 2013, “he bent her arm, restrained her, and pointed a gun at her foot asking, ‘Which toe do you want me to shoot?’”

In February 2014, not long before they split, Jackson says Mayweather prevented her from leaving his condo following an argument. “She claims [he] blocked her from leaving for more than an hour” and dragged her back into his residence by her arm when she attempted to flee.

The suit also alleges Mayweather demanded Jackson remove her 17 carat diamond engagement ring at gunpoint and references an incident from May in which Mayweather posted a sonogram on Facebook and publicly accused Jackson of aborting the couple’s twins.

Jackson is seeking unspecified damages for assault, defamation, invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress and harassment, as outlined in the lawsuit.

No stranger to such claims, Mayweather has a long history of domestic abuse. In July Deadspin’s Mike Gallego published a comprehensive piece detailing his track record as a “serial batter of women” and overall terrible human being.

Which is why it’d be nice to see Jackson’s suit actually go to trial, finally forcing Mayweather to publicly confront his own behavior. Not that it will happen. Mayweather has more than enough money to make almost any problem go away.

Expect a confidential settlement to be reached before Thanksgiving.
