Dear NCAA Playoff Selection Committee

Dear NCAA Selection Committee,

Good Luck. The show that you got on Saturday shows that despite trying to say which four teams are going to the playoffs, a wrench can be thrown at anytime, to any plans and on any given Saturday.

They’re probably still partying in the Grove.

And who could blame then considering Ole Miss had their highest ranked win since 1977, beating Alabama. The Rebels were able to dominate the Crimson Tide in the second half, scoring on 3 out of 5 of their possessions. The emotion of coach Freeze in the post game interview should warm your heart. “I’m proud as heck.” You should be coach, you should be.

Speaking of goal posts…

Rutgers rushed the field. They beat a weak 2-4 Michigan. None of this is relevant in the college football playoff discussions, or even the Big Ten conference championship. But no one at Rutgers cared because “Hey! Let’s rush the field because we actually won this conference game!” At least the goal posts stayed up. Also, this tweet.

The records were broken.

11 top-25 ranked teams lost this weekend. That is tied for the most in a single regular season week since the AP poll existed in 1936. This was also the first time since 1990 that four of the top six ranked teams have lost. There was a .3% chance that Oregon, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and UCLA would all lose this week, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index. .3%. What will next week hold? Who knows, but maybe Katy Perry does?

Katy Perry can predict upsets.

Or she just got lucky. Katy Perry was a guest on College Gameday this week. It was something else to say the least but she gave the experts a run for their money by correctly predicting that Ole Miss to upset Alabama. Also Trevor Knight, you should probably call Katy Perry, she might have a thing for you. College Gameday is headed to Starkville for the Auburn vs. Mississippi State game next week one that is again going to be a major indicator of who will be the last four teams standing at the end of the season and moving onto the playoffs.

This past Saturday in college football was a pinnacle for college football fans. Any moment, a ranking can be thrown out the window with last second touchdown, field goal or turnover. We can only hope that the rest of the season is equally as exciting, thrilling and unpredictable. Good luck on the 28th.

Love,
All of college football.
