Colts vs. Texans in Thursday Night Football
The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans will square off on Thursday Night Football for the chance to lead the AFC South. The Colts and Texans are both 3-2 and the Colts are shooting for their fourth straight win of the season. The Colts are also 11-1-1 when they play on Thursday nights.
Last week, the Texans suffered a tough loss against Dallas, when Dan Bailey kicked a game-winning 49-yard field goal. It was a tough loss but according to rookie head coach Bill O’Brien, the team has a short memory and is moving on, they are ready to play better offensively.
The Colts defense has allowed 297.3 yards in the past three games, generating 11 sacks and nine big takeaways from opposing offenses. The biggest key to the Colts winning this game is their strength at offense and specifically quarterback. Luck has thrown for 1,617 yards and 14 touchdowns. He ranks seventh in the league in completion percentage and passer rating.
J.J. Watt will definitely be on the Colts radar, and Andrew Luck’s, because of his 16 quarterback hits this season, leading the NFL. Houston’s defense has 12 big takeaways this seasons, with an impressive nine of them taking place in the red zone. They are definitely going to need to come up with a plan to slow Luck’s ability to pass since he is the leading the NFL’s No. 1 passing offense.
The two teams will face off again Nov. 23, a game that is going to definitely play a big roll again in deciding who will be taking home the AFC South champion title.
