Thanksgiving Day Tip-offs NCAA Top 25
This Thanksgiving, while you are filling up on turkey and stuffing, surrounded by your family and friends, don’t forget to tune into several of the great match ups taking place for men’s basketball. Tuning into a game while you digest all of your food is a perfect post-Thanksgiving meal treat. Check out some of the games and the time of tip-off:
3:30p.m. – Georgetown vs. (2) Wisconsin
In the Battle 4 Atlantis, Wisconsin is the only team that came in as a top ranked team that hasn’t been upset yet. Georgetown is looking to be that team and to give the Badgers their first loss of the season. The Badgers are been lead by Frank Kaminsky, who has been scoring a team-high 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting with eight rebounds.
7:00p.m. – (5) North Carolina vs. (22) UCLA
North Carolina and UCLA are meeting for the first time in 14 seasons. Following losses in the Battle 4 Atlantis, the Tar Heels and Bruins are playing in the consolation round. On Wednesday, North Carolina lost to Butler 74-66. UCLA fell to Oklahoma 75-65. The last time UCLA and North Carolina met, UCLA lost 80-70.
2:00pm – Kansas (11) vs. Rhode Island
Rhode Island is off to their best start since the 2009 season. Rhode Island beat then-No. 21 Nebraska 66-62 in overtime at home on Saturday to finally end a 26-game losing streak against Top 25 opponents. They will face the No. 11 Kansas Jayhawks who are just coming off their first loss of the season.
6:30pm – Michigan State (20) vs. Rider
The Spartans and Tom Izzo are hoping Branden Dawson will be fully recovered for the first time they face Rider on Thursday night in first-round action of the Orlando Classic. They recently lost to No. 4 Duke 81-71 and were never able to gain the lead in the whole game. Rider recently lost to the Jayhawks and this is their chance to win against a ranked opponent.
