Cowboys Look To Rebuild Legacy, Green Bay Stands In Their Way
The favorite storyline heading into the NFC divisional game between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys, is the Cowboys story of redemption.
Dallas has wollowed in mediocrity for the last few years and many expected this season to be much of the same. Critisized for having a terrible defense and an offensive leader in Tony Romo with a reputation of choking under pressure, nobody were really giving the Cowoboys much of a chance.
Yet, here we are on the weekend of the divisional round playoffs and the Cowboys are prepping to take on Green Bay with a spot in the NFC Championship game on the line.
The Cowoboys are 0-3 over the last three season in divisional round games. To get here the Cowoboys have won under pressure. They are 8-0 when playing away so heading to Lambeu should not worry Dallas too much.
Romo’s reputation for choking, though, is something he will look to overcome today. To stifle those critics he will need to get this playoff win.
Despite having a good reputation, the Packers have also struggled in the post season in recent years. The fact that Rodgers is not expected to be 100 percent is also a great point of concern.
Rodgers sat out practice this week, though he is expected to play through a leg injury. The question becomes will Rodgers be able to deliever a playoff-winning performance while working through an injury.
The Packers are 8-0 at Lambeau Field (6-1-1 against the spread), though it is not clear if the Cowoboys road-winning streak or the Packers home winning streak negates each other or favors one over the other.
The Packers are six-poing favorites in this game.
The total is set at 53 points. The OVER has hit in 14-9 games with total of 52 points this season.
