Little Change In Odds After McCoy-Cassel Move
While their are still rumors a plenty, like Troy Polamalu not “being in Pittsburgh’s future plans” and rumors that Andre Johnson’s agent asked the Houston Texans brass to cut him, there has only been one really big move in the NFL post season so far and that is the trading of All-Pro running back LeSean McCoy from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Buffalo Bills for linebacker Kikco Alonso. However, the books did not see the move as that big.
Both the Bills and the Eagles saw little movement in their future odds at most sports books. The Bills moved from 30-1 to about 25-2 at most books, while the Eagles sit around 20-1, down from around 15-1, on most future odds sheets.
Chip Kelly has been retooling the Eagles offense since he entered the picture and has made big moves like this before when he let go DeSean Jackson in effort to bring in a player that was more willing to convert to his style of play. Kelly, former Oregon Ducks coach, now has nine former Ducks players on Philadelphia’s roster.
In the absence of McCoy  Darren Sproles, Chris Polk and former Oregon Duck Kenjon Barner are left to run the ball for a team that many sports analysts pegged as being playoff contenders this year.
The Eagles could pick up a running back in the draft to fill the gap left by McCoy. The likes of C.J. Spiller and DeMarco Murray are also still in free agency.
Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills had a great defense last season and now add McCoy to the mix. They have also recently picked up Matt Cassel as Rex Ryan positions his new team to be contenders this coming season.
